Google Classroom Activities

In my previous post I talked about the benefits of Google Classroom, but today I want to show you all some of the activities I have my students do with on it.

Google classroom allows you to make activities available to the students you want to complete them. This is how I differentiate.  During reading time I have four different activities available that the students are completing.

The link takes the students to a site where they can hear stories or read stories (I can control if it is read to them). Once they get on the sites they will respond to comprehension questions or complete an online graphic organizer.

Spell It

The google slide are activities that are created in google slide that allow students create students type or move objects to show the correct answer (the slides can be graded).

I have not created any google slides they were shared with me.  You may access the Spell It Google classroom by clicking on the link.

Google Classroom

Looking for an innovative way to provide students with multiple way to find information and be assessed? Google Classroom is the answer! I love Google Classroom and so do my first graders. It allows me to provide my students with interactive practice activities and give feedback. It also allows be to provide the students with appropriate resources on the web to do research.

Once you get all of your students into your Google Classroom room you can also differentiate the assignment each student gets. I love this for differentiation. For example, during reading I may have students completing word work through google classroom. I may assign another group a list of fiction stories to work on fluency and comprehension. Lastly, for those students who are more advance I may provide them with a research topic and have them complete a small project.

I love technology and as busy as I am it make things easier, plus my students love it.  I will be sharing soon some of the google classroom activities I use for my students.
